I currently have 6 2" clown loaches in a 120 gal. My LFS has a big cl about 5-6" and I want to get him, but I wanted to make sure he would be ok with my baby loaches. What do you guys think? Should I get it?

I have never had much problem mixing sizes, but others have. It's a risk.

It is always a risk, I have had issues in the past where a couple where like little kids they would not get along...finally one stresses out too much and you have a fatality.

Right now in my 125 I have 9 CL’s ranging from 3” to 11”, no problems so far to date with this group.(I won’t buy anything under 3”) BTW I just added a 6” CL about 2 days ago. My son found him for #20.00 so we could not pass him up...

thats a big difference in size so it might bully the others.

I agree with ewurm on this. I keep all different sizes and have never seen any problems. My smaller ones all follow the larger ones around the tank.

...I guess if one of my came up missing, I would probably never notice. But, I have never noticed any physical damage on any of the smaller ones.

I think i'll give it a shot. I rarely see loaches that big for sale around here, and I can't pass it up. Hopefully they still have him:)

The only problem I have had was the little ones messing with the big ones, lol.
