ok so i was just searchin my lfs and thinkin that they don't have much new or cool in when i happen across a trio of clown loaches. and not your ordinary 2-3inchers. two of them were probably in the 6-7in range one smaller one bigger, but the third wow i'm going to guess it was 10-11in a real beast. not too vibrant colors but a true monster clown. well to my dismay they were asking $100 for the two larger ones and $75 for the smaller, (a little outa my range). but the girl workin told me a guy had given them to the store because they had been helping him get some good rainbows to breed. the girl also told me that the guy had said they were only 2 or 3 years old and that he had been breeding clowns before the rainbows. now i was pretty impressed and was just curious of what kind a price range 7-11in clown loaches demanded???? if i go back to the store anytime soon i'll get a pic or two, because they will probably be there a LONG time along with their other large fish.

big clowns do cost big money about 1oo for the big ones is not bad. plus they live a long time if you take care of them.

i currently have 7 total but nothing near that size, i have had mine a year and my biggest is around 5-6in

The price is descent. As for the age. I would say the larger one is more like 5-6 years old. And as far as breeding them. I don't think clown loaches have ever been bred in a home aquarium.

i agree, pricing isn't bad for those beasts. but i really doubt he was breeding them...

Proven breeders? Sounds to good to be....

hey don't shoot the messenger. but yes according to the girl at the store he claimed he had been breeding them. and it is bucyrus ohio at a place called fishy business. and in no way can i afford one $100 fish let alone 3. lol i have a few expensive fish but i didn't pay an expensive price for them. i just find deals and get them then. or get them w/ my store discount. but hey if anyone in ohio wanted some big clown loaches they are there for the taking.
