Big dreams from a friend.

One of my buddies expressed his interest in a huge fish tank to me during class a few minutes ago. To make it short he imagines a 3 story house and wants to hire me to dig 2 stories down and basically make a mini ocean that’s almost all of the 2 stories high. The best part is that he wants it to be a beach front resort and said that once I made the underground “tank” he would dig away at the ground surrounding it so he could see through the tank and into the ocean.
Now that is a BIG dream and I love it. It’s crazy and has a low chance of coming true but that just makes me love it even more! It sounds like something Vincent would come up with to be honest.

Plan it out, how would you do it, I would see if you can get some potential backers and consult an engineer

I told him that I could only help with stocking the tank and maybe finding people to do the work plus helping him with designs and making sure he doesn’t get ripped off. It’s a good 20 years in the future if it actually happens.

If he’s serious about it then I’ll help him in anyway I can but this is the first time he has expressed an interest in fish so I’m not sure if it’s an in the heat of the moment type of thought or a serious thought.

That’s the thing though, he has this image of being on a beach front property and having a 2 story fish tank underground and being able to see through all of the tank into the ocean :/.
I doubt even Vincent could make this happen. The sheer cost of digging 2 stories underground, putting up acrylic or glass, making it safe for the fish, doing it on a beach front property, and building a home on top of that with a way to get down the two stories to be able to watch it? You’re talking millions and millions of dollars and I didn’t even mention the permits and most likely legal fees from lawyers and contracts you’d have to write with the city and whatnot. I can see this being 100k easily.

My advice is that you and your buddy need to knuckle down at school instead of daydreaming!!!

Hey, we get our work done and then we do whatever we want. If we’re caught up with our work and there isn’t another lesson, quiz, or test to do then why not do other stuff?
