Sorry for the "not so great" quality. But here's my Redtail Catfish in a tank with my Jardini Arowana. The RTC is about a foot long or so and about a year old, same as the Jardini.

This is just a temp. tank for them also, while my big tank is being conditioned. Hopefully they'll be in their new home within a couple weeks. Ironically, it's in the same room as this smaller tank. :(

I feed him mostly hikari carnivore sinking pellets, as a staple. But, he also eats the shrimp, dried krill, and live fish I feed my bichir and jardini.

Enjoy!

looks good how bigs the tank there in know ? the red tail looks good looks bigger than 12''

They both look nice but isn't that tank WAY TOO SMALL ?????

Yea the tank is too small for them, it's only 60 gallons. I took the catfish to my LFS today to hold onto until my 200 gallon is finished (i'm buddies with the owner). Hopefully in a few weeks I'll post vids/pics of them in thier more spacious home.

Meanwhile, I'm trying to come up with something to put into this tank when I move the big guys out. I'm thinking i wanna get a shovelnose though, and raise him there, then put him into the bigger tank when he's grown in like a year. And eventually maybe above-ground pond them when they're fully grown, not sure though, and I have a couple years to think about that anyhow. I really don't like those rubbermaid things though.

Have fun!

If properly fed and cared for 200 gals = about 2-3 years, you will find yourself having to do more and more frequent and larger water changes to keep up with the demands of just the rtc in the tank alone. I would not suggest that you put another large catfish in the same tank that small unless you already have a large pond in the works. Rubbermaids may not look the best, but they work when you need them the most.

The largest RTC i owned got to 20'' before i had to move and i could'nt take him with me, that really hurt but now i have ARTCs and CHANNELS.
