hi, i am new to the forum. i have been reading alot of differing "rules" for keeping a mbu puffer.

heres a bit of info on my system

tank is 84" x 36" x 30"high about 1400litres

sump 1 is 55 litre tank filled with al***rog

sump 2 is 85 litre tank filled with moving bed k1 media

sump 3 is 60" x 18" x 18" high ( water level is 14"deep ) about 280 litres filled with sponges and al***rog

sump 4 about 100 litres currently empty

water changes are automatic at around 100 litres per DAY

do you think a mbu would be ok in this tank. most of the malawis will be rehomed

heres a vid of my tank https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jtAQIUXECNs

i know that nearly all the mbuna will have to go.

will it house a mbu puffer for life?

why has the word a l f a g r o g in my original post been changed to al***rog?

Because the theee words in the middle are an insult when used on their own.

Just write Alphagrog. :)

cheers, ive read the super long thread on here and still cant decide if i want to take one on.

with around 120 mbuna and a big pleco for 18 months or so i think the filter will handle 1 puffer

Your four sump system should be plenty, complimented by a drip system, I think your puffer will be perfectly fine. If you just want a solo puffer and you think a Mbu might be too much for your tank, why not try a fahaka?

You have plenty of space for MBU. They are nor nerly as agro as Fahaka.s.

Change your weiting to white! It is awfull reading in green......
