I'm building an indoor pond that is triangular in shape and measures 5'x5'x7' and 2' deep. I really would like to keep a RTC but I'm not sure if it's going to outgrow this mini pond in no time. Any info would be helpful.

It could get really big but IMO to thrive would need something larger. That wouldnt leave it much swimming space.

ETA: I almost forgot...WELCOME TO MFK!! :headbang2

I took your measurements of the triangle and adjusted them to a rectangle. Then, it's simply calculating the volume of the rectangle and dividing the results by 2.

Volume of a rectangle: (all measurements in inches)

Length X depth X height/231= volume

I just reshot the measurements through the tank calculator. Mirroring your pond to make a square still comes to 190 gals (187.5). However, calculating a corner tank came to 262.96gals. If the corner of the 2 5ft sections is greater than 90 degrees, the larger volume is the one to go with.

Very nice OB. It's going to be around 260 gallons and a rtc will be fine in it for quite a few years before needing a bigger home. (Depending on if you're buying a baby rtc and growing him out or buying an instant monster.)
