Tom finally got me my second florida gar I ordered, and it came today at about 3inch. My other one ive had for awhile is about 8 inches now.. The little one keeps getting past my divider though and ive already had my gar eat a similar if not a tad smaller petsmart bichir a few weeks ago. will gars harm smaller gars? any advice? before i go to sleep haha...i dont want to wake up to one less gar. thanks all!

With that much of a size difference the larger gar might try to eat it. Definitely get a better divider or move one of the gars to a different tank.
ok i fixed my divider and got em seperate...now i just gotta get my tiny gar to eat....what size do you think i can get rid of the divider? one more inch?
with that much of a size difference i wouldn't do it. The larger gar probably would kill it or pick on it.

i have mixed gar at 8" with a 18" gar and there was small aggression at first then they were fine. i wouldn't try to much smaller then that cause it was concerning for me and my gars size diff.

Op, 2 or 3 more inches at least imo. As for eatting, its simple dude. Small fish. Done
