Off beat, bearded dude with Irish accent making big primitive weapons.......how would any guy not like this?

what's the point of having a huge sword? I wouldn't even have a place to put them. maybe hang them on the wall in the garage next to my fishing poles I guess

how many times can someone watch the show and every episode is about a dude making huge swords?

I love this show, mainly because the guy knows he's a joke. His wife puts up with him. He is a pure physical embodiment of ridiculousness and I love it

The sword construction is the "bait".
The drama, conflict, humor, and personas/characters are the "hook"......this has been the main formula of reality television.

Do you think "Deadliest Catch" has been on for 10 seasons now because viewers mainly want to see crabs in traps?
