The KK and her new hubby

The KK is at least 2" longer than the male

Here what's happen awhile ago...

I placed in the male, then the KK tried to beat him up, but the male fought back...

and

after 10 mins intense fighting, they stopped the fight. Now, they have bruises and bite mark all over the body

:(

The male swim with the KK side by side, but ocassionally they will nip at each other...

I hope they will get along with each other soon, it hurts to see them fight!

The male got more pearly scales and purple color at the store than in the aquarium (probably stress in his new environment, and the fight)

The size of the male seems bigger because he is closer to the camera
 
Dude, sorry but I hope your female is still alive when you get home. I'm in such shock right now. You'd think you'd be taking much better care of this fish knowing it's worth WAY more than you paid for it. There's another KK female similar to this on Aquabid right now for $500-$600, and this one looks nicer IMO. This is like having the winning lotto ticket and losing it due to negligence.

And honestly, she's way out of that Male's league. It's like Megan Fox (Transformers Movie) and Michael Cera (Juno and Superbad).

She's still alive. She is living my with silver dollar and catfish in a large square container at the moment

I guess she didn't like the male afterall... (my mom separated them, after I went to work (they were literally banging on the glass hard))

I am going to sell her after she heals up, don't have any room for her...

and

I was surprised (she is BIGGER than the male) and just got owned by him :eek: after a few mouth to mouth combat
 
Do you have someone that can ship? I might be interested in her if you're gonna sell her. Yeah, it's never a good idea to just put two larger FH together like that. There needs to be an acclimation period where they can get used to each other.
 
wow what a shame... she should have been seperated first before they were put together... that's why i had her in her own tank and not in a tank with my others.. i hope the lips heal up and u should use some fungal cure becuase they look pretty chewed up..remember my husband told you to seperate them first? please get her better and give her her own tank while she heals... it would be a shame if she died..

I am sorry, I totally forgot about the separation procedure...

Its my first time to keep large flowerhorn and still got a plenty of things to learn...

They are both fine (only with bruises and chewed up lip) and they have no problem on eating now (eats a lot and poops a lot :eek:)
