We have recently purchased quite a lot of big to huge driftwood pieces from the estate of a furnitiure/clock maker. This stuff was collected in the 60s and has been stored ever since. It's twisty, gnarled and beautiful. As soon as we can clean it up and photograph it, I'll post it for sale, but in the meantime, I need some advice. We live near Sacramento and are unsure how to offer shipping - would someone be willing to pay the shipping on a five-foot piece, or should I ask for it to be picked up? I don't know the logistics of shipping an item of that size and shape, or the expense. These will not be inexpensive. Well, considering the size and quality of these specimens, what would you all suggest? Thanks for your thoughts.

I would suggest at least offering shipping..... Wood has to be cheaper than fish to ship and people still pay rediculous amounts of money to ship fish. Are you sure this "driftwood" actually sinks?

Not certain of anything about it, yet, but some is so heavy there's no doubt in my mind that it'd sink and I'm sure all of it needs to be waterlogged. It was all collected from lakes in CA.

probably will not need to be shipped freight depending on the size.
but it can be expensive depending on the shape.

all the info you need is on the UPS website. you add up the dims, length width, and height, and that total will determine how much $$ it will be to ship.

please get some pics asap. you wont need to ship to me, i will pickup!
