It a wells catfish. they are great fun to go fishing for i have seen one eat a adult duck. the are some really massive ones in spainish river and a few uk fisheries stock them. i think the really go beyond being a pet although the could live in a lake quite happily eating the other fish and wild life.
seen this one several times here now. Love that vid. Been better if it would have pulled the guy in the water though lol. jk
that is what is called a Wels catfish from Europe the largest one that was ever documented was at around 15 and over 500pds. no i haven't see the video. but that video did reminded of my very first 3ft shovel head i caught on worms in below a dam on a partial cloudy and sunny day.

View attachment 40979That’s 100% a Wells or European catfish I have caught them up to 30lb here in the uk they put up one hell of a fight as they can swim backwards during the fight. They have been caught on rod and line to just over the 200lb mark and I have fished lakes in France for carp with them in going up to 140lb. The biggest ones are from Russia reports of trawlers pulling up huge 600lb ones have been confirmed
. If you want to catch one there are loads of organised trips to France and Spain these have become Mecca’s for cat fisherman from Europe. Have a look at this if you want a trip to Spain.

Just to let you know yes they do eat everything I have caught them on boilies (designer carp bate) squid, beef heart, live,r dead day old chicks, luncheon meat (caned meat spam), maggots, worms and dead fish.
