almost got my rack done, will tranfer my 180 and 75 from our old house this weekend. this is by far the easiest/strongest way to build a large rack system that is also easily broken down for future moves.

dimensions are 14'9"x40"x 6'8". orange beams are 7' long. this rack is large enough to hold 4 300g perfecto tanks, now i just need 8 grand for them lol.

Nice but can it support the weight of 1200g?
the uprights can support over 10,000 lbs each, and that is an extremely conservative estimate, the beams can support 3500lbs per pair, and these are the weak ones. i can buy more stout beams when needed for under $20 a piece. this aint no home depot crap, this is the stuff home depot puts their crap on.

lol where did you get it? This is one of the things I've been considering to conserve space.

I was going to ask you if you burgled a Home Depot for their lumber racks!

i got the uprights from a plumbing supply house that was closing for free, they were 18' long each but i cut em down to fit my garage. i bought the beams used($14 a piece) from a local place that sells new/used warehouse racking.

actually my father in law bought me the beams in trade for my leftover uprights!

Nice stands. Buy more tanks!

i have to say i was kinda dissapointed when i opened this thread and realized it was not what i expected:grinno:
very nice job though
