Just wanted to share a picture of this giant Geophagus..... surinamensis? At least that's my guess I'm not the best with Geo's. He got traded into my LFS and while we see a few smaller of these guys here and there. I've never seen a big guy in. Apologies for the phone pics.

Nice geo, ya looks like Surinamesis Thick! . Wonder who beat up his tail.

He is a beast, very stocky, those are full size angels in there, not juveniles. Apparently it was another big Geo that beat him up, he was from a group of 6. And I guess he was getting the rough end too much. Hence why he got traded.

Not surinamensis. The tip-off to ID is the black mark on the cheek, which means it could be winemilleri, proximus is another geo with that mark and looks similar. Surinamensis are actually rare, but related geos that look similar to them often get lumped in and called surinamensis when they're not.

Going off your photo I'd say likely winemilleri, but we'll see what others say.

Not being able to make out the barring on the fishes flanks makes it hard to tell.
It could also be Dicrozoster.
Definitely not surinamensis. As already stated, a rare fish in the hobby.

Very cool, G. Winemilleri. Like I said I'm not super familiar with the different Geo's I was just appreciating this guy being so beefy, and apperently the least dominant of the group. So the others must be even bigger.
