My parents just bought some land and they want to put a large fishing pond on it, so I was wondering does anyone have any information on fishing pound designs or web sites?
Thank you

You should be able to find plenty of info on how to build/dig them online, but here in Florida you need specific permits and what not to build a fishing pond so make sure to check on that first. not that they can do a lot about a giant hole in yuor backyard unless they catch you doing it.

I don’t recon you are going to need any filtration if it is going to be so huge…
Treat it as a ‘man-man’ natural area of water.
If it is in the tens of thousands of gallons (or more), you introduce native water plants, and a few big native game fish, you should have a perfect ecosystem where is pretty much takes care of itself. Maybe pop a small rowing boat in there, and you have your own fishing area for life..

I looked into this in the past as im working on my own pond and large 20000-100000+gallon ponds should be built with a CLAY lining its easyer and chaper to get the clay, but it has to bee atleast two feet thick to retain water.
