Is there a weight limit for rocks in tanks? I found a big flat rock that probably weights 20+ pounds. I know there's a lot of weight in smaller gravel or sand but that's spread out across the tank which I guess this flat rock would be too I just wanted some feed back to see what others thought. Pictures are always welcome lol

In the planted aquarium forums, when people add massive stones like that, they usually glue to a foam or plastic base to spread the weight and also prevent falling over, but you have a flat rock that probably won't tip over, but still you want to spread the weight.

I have access to massive awesome looking stones, but I fear 120 gallons of water in my bedroom floor haha

That's why I left the rock down at the river for now haha don't want to risk it

This my 55 with a 20lb+ rock in the center.....but, this tank is sitting in an unfinished basement.

Now that I look at my tank the rock is too big and doesn't fit anywhere really but I might break it in half and have 2 medium flat rocks lol

I know its kinda pricey but there are some real cool rocks made out of a plastic resin that you would not have to worry about weight at all.
