Hello, I really love big SA cichlids, anywhere from 10-15" approx. My LFS has wild caught green terror cichlids, would these be ok being housed with stingrays, datnoids and a pike cichlid? If not, any other suggestions?

not many people have the true wild caught green terrors... is it a pretty reputable LFS? Not sure how it would do with rays and dats, i'm not too familiar with them. I would think it would be fine as long as the tank is big enough, but i'm guessing it is if you have rays. If it were me and I had one large show piece cichlid to go in that setup, I'd go with a vieja or paratheraps species such as an argentea or black belt... but that's just me. A true wild caught green terror would be sweet too.

Thanks, its a pretty reputable LFS, they have a ton of rare things, many of which are F0 and F1 Geo and Gymnogeos that I have never even heard of. It says they are WC from Ecuador, and there is one with amazing yellow fin trim! I love Vieja argenteas very much too, but if they have them always sell quarter size pieces which will get eaten right away!

I'd say go for the GT then. True GTs are hard to come by and if it's the actual Aequidens rivulatus then that would be a great pickup, and would look great in that setup. It would be good for some input though from someone that has experience with both cichlids AND rays and dats, because I just don't know much about those.

it sounds like its wild caught gold saums frazzlerock not true aquidens rivulatus because he said they have yellow trim, which is cool though wc Gold Saums are SWEET!! i dont know about rays though but i thought that it usually doesnt work with cichlids and rays though i wouldnt really see a GT messing with a ray...

arent GTs SA? i agree though parrot would be SWEET too

Yeah, prefer SA because besides my datnoids everything is SA in my tank, but if I find something thats CA that will work, I might do that also.
