Hi,
I am planning on upgrading to a 180gallon tank over the summer, only issue is I live in a mobile home/trailer. I am gonna need some type of extra support underneath it, and was wondering if anyone has done this before.
If it helps, my house is from '94, and its 14 x 70 feet. I plan on putting it on an outside wall in my living room.
Any advice, or links to where this has been done would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks!!

I can't help you with a trailer but I'm sure somebody will be along soon who is familiar with them. I just wanted to say.

Pugs Rule!

u deff need to stack concrete blocks under the area where you gonna put it also wood planks on top of the blocks i would say for everyone block put two 4x4 side by side on the block and then a solid piece of 2x10 plank

Concrete blocks , i have heard if you place them under neath the moblie home suporting the floor works ok .

I have never done this or even seen this as i dont live in a moblie home or have any friends or family in one but i have been told it works ok by someone on a diffrent forum .

Or, you could use a couple of small basement jacks and a 4x4 placed under the floor directly where the tank sits. Either one would work.

Thanks! (Pugs are awesome) I also need to know if the fact that all the dirt around/under the house has a LOT of roots from pine trees, will that make a difference in setting the blocks on the ground? Anything special I need to do for that?

Cut the roots away. You need the ground level to set the blocks on.

I would stay away from the outside walls. Most mobile homes have a slight dip on the outer few feet because the frame does not extend all the way out. I have seen a few tanks a little smaller than 180 just try to find a spot that near the center and is above the blocking and be careful not to brace anywhere besides the frame because there are water lines and duct work under there depending on brand and such.

I live in a 95 Fleetwood and used concrete blocking and 4x4's along with some really big shim I got from a manufactured home parts dealer. I am going to redo it when I get a bigger tank and use the basement jacks with the 4x4's. You can get the flatter concrete pads to set the jacks on. My tank is a 125 gallon and it sits on an outside wall. I tend to stay away from the middle because of the marriage line unless you wanna go that far under your house to set up the jacks or concrete. My tank is off 1/16 of an inch back to front which is pretty dang close. Good luck, you can always mind a mobile home repair forum too and they can answer your question, thats where I got my answer. Enjoy the new tank.

dont cut the roots away, by distrubing the ground when your done with the concrete blocks (stacked interlocking style) and shims the ground will settle again after the first big rain and you'll have to re-shim it again
