:swear: I have a 120 gallon tank with a ornate Bichir eel,Florida gar, Wolf cichlid, and some weird type of shovelnose, a parrot cichlid, and a jewel cichlid{ totally willing to trade these guys out for something cooler} oh yeah and some normal plecos. I also have a lot of live plants so my problem is I want another killer in my tank that won't nip fins and won't eat my plants. I just tried some pike cichlids but at 24$ a piece they were too small and they made for a expensive meal. so if anybody has some suggestions I would be more than willing to entertain them.
thanks ahead of time, goat

the dovii is the wolf cichlid you already mentioned, toxicfish obviously didnt read your post

id suggest you get rid of the shovelnose and buy 3-5 african cichlids, if the gar is unable to eat fish of their size

Dump the parrot and the jewel and get an amphiumas, you will be the only one you know that has one, if you don't want the amphib thy a marbled eel or american eel.

there are a bunch of good choices first loose the jewel and parrot then maybe a bowfin or another different bischir or a clown knife or the american eel would be cool but they are ecsapists ir peacock bass but big enough not to get eaten

Clown knife is a great choice but he would eventually outgrow your 120g. A medium sized one, say 10", sounds desirable but plan on getting rid of him in the long haul or buying a bigger tank. Keep an eye on mean Mr. Dovii regardless of what you put in there. They love to abuse newly introduced tank inhabitants.

if the wolf is a male, watch out for his tankmates... mine can hardly stand the dog looking at his tank, not to mention my 4 year old daughter... it's one of the best things i think i've seen him ever do. he tries to attack her through the glass every morning when she wakes up!!! :FIREdevil
