do they fight with each other ? I saw two in a tank and one was dominant, a group of 6 or more I wonder if they would harass the smaller ones or all get along better?

They establish pecking order and the dominant fish maintains its status by being somewhat aggressive towards others. This may cause a problem if you keep only 2 but in groups of 3 or more, aggression will be spread evenly with no ill effects to any single fish. In my experience adding a small specimen to an existing group never presented a problem

should be okay. I have a group of 4 redhooks that have been together since 1998 and they don't really bother each other at all.

I have a large mixed shoal of SD' and RH's, 7 total. They have there pecking order in fact there growth rates seem to follow..Alpha being the largest and so on... they chase once and a while to maintain the order, no harm no foul...

The more the better. Dollars are a schooling fish. I've had mixed size / species shoals that did just fine.
