hi guys i live in sydney and water is crap here.

i am planning to get some monster fish soon rays gars etc which are super dooper hard to find here and i wanna make sure that i can make them as happy as possible.

a good mate of mine that is very experienced in discus said that i dont need ro in sydney, he told me to get a big white canister filter. he said its a type of filter they use to distill water or somthing not 100% sure and it removes chlorine and other heavy metals out of water so i wont be needing to use prime.

1st off, you don't need, and shouldn't use R/O water. Use your tap water with Tetra Water Conditioner or Prime. Adjust harness/PH with driftwood and salt as needed.

Those filters that are these giant ugly white things are expensive and not worth it. Any regular filter for your size tank will do just fine.

get OZONE or just a cheap uv sterilizer, add seachem prime when doing water changes, use tap water as well

im not using the big white as a filter for my tank. im using it to make my water right. why shouldnt i use RO?
