Do you have the bottoms of your tanks pained? Or on a solid base? I've never gone bare bottom but when my fish dig through the gravel and expose the glass they can see all the way to the ground and continue to dig and dig downwards and seem to get "stuck" doing that. Like they think they can keep swimming deeper.
Do you ever see neurotic behavior from you fish being kept in such a sterile and non-stimulating environment?

he is very young fish, growing him for almost 2 years, because he is a wild caught fish, he had some problems when I got him! I hope he has a good show career!
