I don't know what to do.

I found an add on craigslist for a 125-150 gallon... comes with canister filter, glass top, heater, and a ****ty light that needs replaced (too small)

that is 200 dollars + i would have to build a new stand

or I could spend around 160-200 dollars on a new light for my 75 to grow plants, new glass top, and plants.

#1 results in a tank that is twice as big, but it won't be as nice as a tank as option #2 as option #2 will be planted, good light source, ect.

What would you do?

I would grab the bigger tank. You can always upgrade the bigger tank as you go (nicer lighting, more "finished" stand/canopy etc)...there's obviously no making a 75G bigger.

go for quality
because the extra space wouldnt be that useful
if it doesnt have the necessary equips to maximize the size

That's a wicked price for a tank that sized. My vote would be to grab that tank.

bigger
