I was wondering who has the biggest Flagtail/Fei Feng? How big? and how old?

Right now mine is hitting a growth spurt now that he's discovered higher protein foods like Cichlid Gold and krill, but he's still right around 5". Until about a month ago, his growth had been pretty slow (2.5-3" in like 7 months). Now it seems like he's picked up about 1/2" in a couple weeks

I've had one that was pushing 14" but I know there is at least one roaming around here that's 16" so if that owner sees this maybe they will come forward.

Mine was 15" when I had to get rid of him, as he got too big and aggressive for a 125. Something spooked him and he took out two bala sharks. Broke both of them in half against the glass. Found one dead and bent in half the other one lasted for a day swimming at the top of the tank. Nice fish but they need a lot of room.

The last time I measured mine, he was 12" (nose to base of tail). I've had him for a few years (got him when he was 4"), and he's now in a 180gal.

i have 3 one is very agressive any live with some ichlids in a 100 tall he is around 7inches, i have 2 that live together in a 125 community and they dont bother each other , but the agressive one is the fastest growth rate right now

I just thought of this thread and decided to bump it back up on the off chance someone else with a big flagtail sees it and feels like adding to it.

Mine is now about 7", so he's grown a little under 1/2" per month since I've had him (got him at about 2-2.5"), but it took him several months to start eating anything but algae and his growth too off once he discovered pellets, krill, earthworms, etc.

I just got a new little guy (about 2") the other day and he is already eating pretty much anything I throw in the tank (as well as grazing off the algae). He's starting off in a divided off section of my 150 (the other one started in a 75 for almost a year), so I'm interested to see how much his growth rate differs being in a larger tank and eating a more varied diet at a small size.
