My biggest one was ~14" TL. Be prepared that after getting to ~10"-12" TL it will be adding a LOT more girth. Despite being a foot-long SL fish mine weighed about 2-3 lbs
I'd like to find one of those for my tank. Have checked all the stores where I live and no one has them. I had 2 of them a few years back, very nice when they got big. My 75 needs a scavenger that won't fit in my jaguar's mouth!
Unfortunately, the matter is complicated by the fact that several different species in the Pimelodus genus are called 4-line pim, erroneously by almost all importers and LFSs. I think the only one that can be called that is Pimelodus tetramerus - the fish that clearly has 4 lines on its body http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=834. For example, Pimelodus blochii http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=653 is by far and large the most common contaminant in the shipments of young tetramerus and vise versa.

If you want something a little bigger but very similar you ought to try and find an Ornate Pim, I had one for a while until he got cooked when the tank spiked to over 90 during a heater freak out in the summer. Hes in my profile pic since he is still my coolest fish ever along with my clown knife. He got to around 7" In 3 months but they reach almost 18 they are slimmer than a 4 line and they school if possible.
