I was in my lfs the other day and they had a huge male crammed into a 40g breeder he had to be 14-15 inches whats the biggest male you've had or seen?

Dad had a 14 inch male that was pretty thick

I have seen a 15'' or so crammed into a small tank and his mate was right next to him, and she was the exact same size. It was crazy and the first time that I have not seen sexual dimorphism between jag cichlids. Usually the female is much smaller. I couldn't believe the girth more so, than the length. They were both probably 6''s top to bottom.
It's sad that you go to a lfs and see huge oscars or jags or other large cichlids in these tiny tanks priced at 50$ for a beat up oscar it's crazy and you feel bad knowing the oscar will be stuck in there for months
The largest on I have ever owned was around 13-14" male..
But we had a guy bring in a female that was easily 15-16"
Thought it was a male at first.
Put her with my male and they spawned...
I had tried to pair him up with 2 separate female both a little larger than him.[once when he was 12"]
But he wouldn't spawn.
His original mate died and he just didn't want to pair up again.
Put him with that big female about a year later, and blame new fry!

there was two a few years ago at underwater world in QLD Australia in a big tank with pacu etc they would have been pushign what appeared 55cm easy not sure if they are still there tho.
