growing out some baby jaguars in a 65 tall tank right now, and after i move them out i wanna retire the tank from being a growout tank and do 1 or 2 big fish and need some suggestions... nothing too hard to get my hands on, and keep in mind its a 3 foot long tank (its 36L x 18D x 24H) and has to be freshwater, not brackish or salt. also the fish has to be able to stay for life in there and i dont mind doing huge daily or bi-daily water changes even up to 90% to keep the nitrates in check.

Realistically the biggest fish you could keep in a tank that size is something that doesn't get bigger than 8" and something that isn't very active since there won't be a lot of swimming room. What immediately comes to mind is a congo puffer.
