i now have about 100 billion snails in my betta fish tank. they are eating all the live plants and pissing me off. how the **** do i get rid of them with out hurting my fish or plants?

What is the size of your tank? Do manual picking up or bait with lettuce and ditch the lettuce afterwards.

Billions would be an overstatement.:)

Lettuce things works well, make sure they can get to it fast. Another is to get a puffer, and put your fish in a temporary place, and let the puffer gorge on the snails.

What kind of snails are they? Do you have pics?? The best method is baiting with some type of veggie.

take the time to pick them off and give them to me :D my dp's would love some.

... in my betta fish tank...
Take your wittle bwitty monsters out and change the water. You do clean that thing, don't you?

i had snails once and didnt know what to do. what i ended up doing was adding 'parasite guard' by jungle. the reason for this is that i was reading on the back that you have to remove all snails and crustaceans from the water befor adding the medication....theres a reason for this! the snails were all dead 2 days later.. i just sucked them out with a python and never had another snail in the tank! this was a drastic measure, but the med is fish safe, all you have to do is remove the carbon from your filter. plus it cost less than 5 bucks! everything else was fine in the tank.

forgot.... i tried the clean the whole tank befor, but the snails stayed in the gravel, the only way to do it is boiling the gavel, which kills all the benificial bacteria in the gravel..and sometimes the snail eggs are on something you missed...

I don't know the size of your tank but my daughter had the same problem in her guppy tank and we tried all the tricks. They only thing that worked, we bought 2 clown loaches. Good Luck!!!
