bio bale

I had two saltwater tanks on it. It is as good as any other media. It did not load up and never had to be cleaned. It is not the most efficient media, but if you can get it at a good price, there is no reason not to use it. I still have it out in the garage, but I am using bio-balls and pot scrubbers in my wet/dry's.

These dont really need cleaning if you have a good mech filter pad before the bio. Of course, to make them worth while, your best to get a heap of them. But I feel that pot scrubbers do a better job at filtering, pound for pound. And also per square inch I think pot scrubbers have much more surface area for beneficial bacteria than bio-balls do.
