I had some spare bio-balls lying around and was trying to figure out how I could put them to good use. I've heard of people putting them in their overflow boxes, but I know that some people complain that they are hard to clean when you just throw 'em in there. I found that I am able to string my bio-balls together. If they get dirty all I have to do is pull the strand of bio-balls out and rinse with tank water. Connecting them makes them much easier to extract for cleaning when they get all full of detritus and whatnot.
