Hi everyone,
We have bio media coming in from China in the next few weeks. The media are in the pics below. I wanted to see what MFK people were interested in buying. I have #1 expanded clay rings running in my sump and my fx5. These rings are on order. #2 is something I am doing a survey on to see if people want it. It is a mini Bacteria House copy. They are very porous and work well submerged, as well as in bakki showers. Now for the full size BH copies, there are 2 types: expanded clay and diatomaceous earth. (A) is what I have running submerged in my big tank's sump, 40kg worth and I have more on order. (B) is an expanded clay BH copy. I am debating if I should order this in our next container.
My goal is to offer quality bio media at affordable prices. Of course I wanna make some cash too
but still, I want to offer the best prices on media to the above average aquarist. Once I get the media in, I will reopen this in the "for sale" section and apply for power seller status if the demand is there. Below is a list of tentative prices.
Expanded Ceramic rings (1) 7-9$ a KG=2.2lbs (2 KG fills up fx5 trays)
Mini BH rings (2) A bit more expensive but much more surface area 9-11$ KG
Full size BH red (A) Will run 3.00 per stick. Each stick is 7" long. I have 6 sticks in a mini bakki shower style on my 75 gallon feeder tank with a 720 GPH pump spraying full blast and my water parameters have been perfect for the past year.
Full size expanded clay BH (2) Is heavier and will be in the 3.50 range.
I can also get sintered glass media but it is heavy and it is the same price with less surface area. Prices will not go higher but may go down. It depends on my bulk price. I ordered only 1 ton for my personal use but this order will be 25 tons so I will adjust prices as necessary. I am only estimating atm.
Shipping will be as follows:
1kg will be 5.00 shipping
2-12kg will be 12.95
All items will ship via USPS from Hawaii. I may be able to fit more but I will have to test it out later. I'm thinking maybe 1-2kg will be able to fit in the USPS padded flat rate envelope.
(fluval bio max 500g is around 8.00)
(if you are interested pm me or post in this thread)
