Hi all my plan is to do a heavly planted tank with either mini water lettuce or duckweed.

would i need to add extra plant nutrientsfor the plants?

Normally not.

These plants grow like hell in most tanks without doing anything good for them.
When they get yellow, you can add some iron fertilizer.
