bio?

i have 100's of short pieces of tubes left over from projects and old filters and such

poeople use scrubbies and straws as diy biomedia
i was wondering if i chop up all my pieces into inch long pieces and maybe rough them up a bit if this would work as bio media

it be a shame to throw all these bits away as they are too short to use on tanks or ponds anymore
but i could fill a bio camber in my pond filter easy with thsi left overs

any thoughts anyone ?

i dont see why not my step dad had a large pond filter and in the bottom of it under all the foam was a load of cut up ridged pipe , not sure how affective it was though
