bioballs... to wash or not to wash?

If there from another tank i would not wash them or if they are new wash any dust off them first .

yup, they are from an established tank... i'll just leave them there.

Put them in the dishwasher. J/K !!!

If they are all dried up I would rinse them off, before using them. I don't think alot of dried cud on them is going to help anything.

it's just like when you get a dirty used tank and you gotta clean all that dried up crap off of it. doesn't hurt, and makes you feel better too! cleaning bio balls is a pain, so i usually just rinse and swish them around a bit, and let it be.

even if he had bad stuff going on in that tank, it is dried up, and whatever was on it is no longer living.
