I have a 600 gallon mix cichled tank, with about 1100 total gallons and 300 plus fish from 8 inches down to little baby and everywhere In between. I bought about 190 fish and they have been breeding for over a year now. My bio load is extremely high as I feed 8 big teaspoons of pellets twice a day and 4 sheet of seaweed a day.
For nutrition export I have 2 algae scrubber one of the large ice cap and one of the large clearwater scrubbers. I also have one pothos plant not one vine one whole plant from a planter maybe 6 or 7 vines 12-20 inches long and I also employ a drip water change system that will be turned off for this test.

I filled a TS3 sulfur denitateor reactor with biochar and I am running about 800 GPH through the media. I noticed when putting the biochar in I was able to tap the bottom of the reactor on the ground and fit alot more in. I like this because the tighter they are packed together the less likely they are to channel water.

I have three 5 gallon buckets with 1 40ppi and two 20ppi sponges for macanical filtration and I also have a 48sqft DE filter that I only run a few hours a week. I can go about 3 days between cleaning the sponges. I do not vacuum the tank.
PH is 7.6-8.2 this depends on how much water I am dripping in the system as my well water has a PH of 7.0

Nitrates are 30 ppm
I am hoping to see these drop the pictures below are my baseline any reduction will be a success because I don't have the drip system running, my tanks nitrates would normally rise.

I can't wait to see if this work!!!!! I have tried AGC and I had some Geo's get HITH. When I stped using it it started to clear up. I don't know why this happened I have used activated carbon before and never had a problem.
I will be posting all my results on this thread.
If there is anything anyone wants to know of maybe have me try just let me know.

I have two synodotis catfish, that manage to eat most of my fry. Their the smallest ones, full grown their about 5 inches long. They are mostly nocturnal, and spend all day, in the crevices.
My wife use to accuse me of always buying fish. As most of the new fish, are never seen until their about an inch long.
