So I have a paper to write in biology class and since I plan on studying marine biology in university next year I thought it would be a good idea to orient it towards fish. So does anyone have any ideas for this paper? It would have to be a pretty narrow sciency type topic preferably with a good bit of data and interesting enough to stand out to a non-fish enthusiast.
Thanks

Clownfish with aeneomie hosts, male guards eggs, seahorse breeding, grouper/moray cooperative hu ting, shark migratory patterns. Theres tons of interesting stuff. Watch the discovery channel for a week and you'll figure something out.

maybe the strike of mantis shrimp. they can "punch" with the force of a .22 caliber bullet to crack open shells... or glass aquariums

^^^ see now thats a cool fact you could write about. Or the double set of jaws Morays have, first set bites the food, second set pulls it down the eels throat.

Marine symbiotic relationships. gobies and shrimp, baggai cardinals and urchins, clowns and anemones. ect.

just watched a thing on them the other day on tv and i must say they are very impressive, that punch send a shockwave to kill or stun prey

maybe the strike of mantis shrimp. they can "punch" with the force of a .22 caliber bullet to crack open shells... or glass aquariums

You could also talk about Pistol Shrimp, and the immense amount of heat that they let off right at the point of impact... i think scientist believe it to be hotter than the surface of the sun for that fraction of a milli second...

Not to mention the power they are capable of as well...

I think it depends alot on how long the paper is supposed to be and what are the requirements for it. It'd be hard to write 5 pages on pistol shrimp without going into extreme detail
