Biomax vs Bioglass

I don't want to spend too much on biomax and there is the cheaper bio-glass from odyssea (China made). I am wondering how good it is compared to biomax.

There are lots of cheap forms of bio media. Pot scrubbies are one that comes to mind. Another good option is Pond matrix. Lower cost bio media just usually has less surface area on it. If you're using them in an application like a big sump, it really shouldn't matter. On overstocked tanks running limited filtration, it could come into play.
