G'day guys.

Everyone, heres a chance to release that inner-nerdiness and come up with a biotope tank, that could possibly be made into reality.

I have a few criteria however.

1. Angelfish will be in this biotope.
2. I live in australia so don't say some newly described species first imported 2005.
3. Must be able to live in a 6'x2'x2.5' tank for life.

So do start and have fun.

ditch the angels cuz they suck yuo could get a bit of store credit for em iv always thought it would look cool as to make like a pollution type looking tank with tyres and cans and stuff have a few ugly ass fish like dragon gobies n stuff might not be the prietiest tank but i think that would look sweet or go with a river bed nice whit sand a few sword plants some nice driftwood and your angels and some other amazon fish

Angels stay, it's final.

I like the second idea, but it won't be as planted, just a large branch or two and maybe 3 sword plants.

rummynose tetras are awesome i <3 mine, pictus cats (mine never ate any of my neons) BGK theyre soo awesome all nice amazon fish fancy cories when u have lots they look awesome, a few BN's i reckon theyre awesome esp the peppermint ones but theyre kinda expensive.
But the river bed would be cool thats what my discus tanks sposed to look like

or what about lots of river rocks the round ones with one or two swords that would be cool

How specific does the bio-type need to be??? Board like 'South American', one river/basin only bio-type (ie. Amazon/Orinoco river), or even more über specialized???

A 820+ litre (sorry my imperial → metric ain't that good) should give you plenty of scope.

Stu :)

I'm aiming for western amazon, Western Brazil Columbia ecudaor

Thats a little to detailed for my liking.

I was thinking,

8 - angelfish
4 - g.balanzii
4 - s.leucostica
2 - heros severus
2 - menonsauta

plus a few other non cichlid fish like

3 - leporinis frederici
4 - banjo catfish
4 - flagtailed porthole catfish
3 - ornate pimelodus
