looking to create a 75 Gal biotope predator tank.
I was thinking of a south american, but then i realized predators are limited in SA.
Any ideas?

something interesting and exotic would be cool
looking for something differant, not something you see everywhere...

ie- i will never keep an oscar and i don't want a pirahna tank

hujetas would be ok in a 75 for life as well as different breeds of catfish obviously none that get too big. the red wolf fish is also an option and those are quite commonly kept with tank mates.

wasn't sure if hujetas could be held in a 75 for life.
how many?

more or less looking for a combination that would interact most levels of the aquarium.
thinking of atleast 5 individual fish.

with some of the larger predators, not much i could keep with them is my thought.

definetly would like a predatory catfish, possibly a breeding pair of some predator
and would think about dithers and a good pleco

by the looking around i did i am under the impression that you can't keep anything with a red wolf fish. if i had 2 or 3, would i be able to keep any tank mates due to aggression?

hardcore predators are something i haven't attempted and red wolf fish seems interesting.

if the filtration is good, you could do a couple hujetas, a red wolf, a smaller species catfish, a smaller species pleco and maybe some silver dollars as dithers until they get too big. just make sure the filtration is good and that sounds like a nice tank. throw in some driftwood and you are golden. not sure if you should get more than one red wolf fish as far as agression and being able to keep more species.
