biotope tankmates?

You could do African butterfly fish, African brown knives, maybe Elephantnose fish, and maybe even some larger African tetras (depending on the size/species of bichir). Basically any African riverine fish that wont pick on or get eaten by your bichir.

It depends on what biotope you wish to mimic but heres some swamp/river
FISH:
African tetras, Mormyrids,African Knifefish, African Butterfly fish,
Synodontis, Hemichromis, Pelvicachromis, barbs, spiny eels, Haplochromines, Tilapia

hhhmmmmm tilapia. i mean yea good choice. sorry but its in resturants around here.

So,whats your point?

o nothin im just pointin out that some fish that ppl raise here is often a food source in other countries. like phiranna, red-tail catfish, tilapia, an peacock bass to name a few. didnt mean to cause a up-stir.

Yes and in some countries in Africa polpyterids are food and supposed to be tasty. There no stir up I just wondered

Pelvicachromis are ok even though they only grow 3 inch female 4 inch male? I have 2 Delhezi that need a tankmate or 2.
