I was wondering what part of a river bed should i try to scape in my tank? i got so many idea runnin through my head it hurts. i feel like i want some kind of brackish effect. then i was struct with the urge to use a combination of different substrate in my tank. i tthink this would be a hard hitter. LMAO. invision my 55 gallon planted with sand and gravel rocks and some stone, drift woodand my flowerhorn and red devils. i'm open for suggestions.[YT]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtL9GmaK260[/YT]

brackish type..? You know brackish is half salt half freshwater right? And flowerhorns don't have a natural bio-type, they're hybrids. Both flowerhorns and red devils will destroy any plant you put in there. A 55 gallon will not house a single one of them for life either. Pool filter sand or natural gravel, driftwood, textured spraypaint backgrounds, dollar general plants, and clay pots are my favorite setups LOL.

It really doesn't matter to the fish, it's whatever you like. It's true that these fish will probably wreck shop on some plants. Also, by brackish, I think he just means a kinda dark maybe stained look. I've heard people misuse the word before and it use to baffle me when they did, but it would seem that to the non fish-nerd, people think it just means that 'Amazon' look; stained by wood ya know. Don't ask me why, but it's a super common mistake.
