hi there my lfs has just got in 4 birchers they are rare in my country just wondering since i would love to pick one up and put it in my grow out (6x2x2) they are about 5 to 6 inches but i have a 3 to 3.5 inch baby peacock bass in there along with 4 tinfoil barbs 4 inches and a 7 inch bgk would the bircher eat my bass i believe there senagal birchers no naame in the shop i would love to pick one up today but wont if there is a high chnace itll eat my prized bass (rare here aswell) cheers james

You should be fine. Knowing how rare they are there though, if you have any doubt I'd definitely get the bichir but out one or the other in a grow out until you feel comfortable with them together. IMO if it's a Senegal and you keep it well fed, you'll be fine.

thanks for the quick reply i have lots of drift wood and a place only the bass could go so i might give it a shot as i dont have another tank for either i willl buy a 24x12x12 breeder net or a tank divder to split them up if any problems arise thanks heaps

Birchir is in acclamation stoked to finally have one of my dream fishes

Reactions: Evz jardini
I've got an 18" ornate that left a 6" jardini well alone it was a gamble but I've never seen him chase down fish and attack them do i took the risk (no problems) the only bite I've seen him give was to my catfish when there battling to get under wood on the bottom and even then it's more of a shove with an open mouth lol
Congrats on the new pickup turtles :)

cheers evz that gives me plenty of hope (loving you new jar by the way) he was with some 1 inch rainbows in the shop in a 12x12x12 so he seems freindly hes chilling with my pbass as i type haha so far so good :)
