Bichirs are predators. So, in that aspect if something meaty can fit in their mouths, there's a risk. However, bichirs are usually placid and indifferent towards similar sized tankmates, (excluding some occassional squabbling amongst their own species).

they eat feeders if thats what you mean. it all depends on the personality of the fish, like mine is nice and to lazy to kill anything else except ghost shrimp anyway, but my friends has so far eaten about 4-5 of the tankmates.

they dont appear aggressive at all they just bumble around all day and eat all night I have never seen one pick on anything else just eat smaller stuff

it depends on both the other fish and the bichir. If your asking coz ur considering tankmates, Anne's got a list of possible bichir tankmates. It's up in the sticky. I think that might help you, buddy. good luck!
