I think a South American would be fine. The only other lungfish I would keep with Birchirs would be an AUL.A marbled would be a bad idea cause of the max size and aggressive behavior, but do you think a South American or gilled African is also a bad idea?
the temp usually stays between 72-75 in winter. i have heaters in it. i only quarantined for about a week. no i offer tilapia, worms, shrimp, sinking and floating pellets and theres always mosquito fish in there .all the other fish are target trained. he only took food from tongs once.No obvious probs from the pics. Did u quarantine the fish when u got it? Or treat with medications? What are the temps of the pond? Only feeding shrimp? Might be getting our competed for food. Maybe target feed to make sure it’s getting some food.
