Birds in Norway fly high thanks to unsuspecting granny

OSLO (AFP) - A granny in Norway who scattered birdfeed in a flowerbed outside her retirement home unknowingly fed them cannabis seeds -- and ended up with the wrong kind of pot in her garden, daily Drangedalsposten reported.
"It was my grandchildren who noticed it. 'Hey grannie, that's hashish you have there. You can't grow that in your garden' they said," 81-year-old Inger Livold told the paper published Thursday.
The cannabis seeds must have been inside the bag of birdfeed, the newspaper said.
Livold called the police herself to alert them to the illegal plants, and they came and tore them up.
She is not expected to face any legal troubles.
