Most likely not going to get much feed back on this , as am not sure if there is many , if any Dj's on MFK' but ill post this up anyways .

Basicly i am thinking of getting back into Djing again .

Been Djing for about 4.5 years now but had about a year off from doing it .

Not really done many clubs/ pubs but i have done a few hose partys .
Been looking on Youtube for the last couple of weeks of peoples mixes and stuff they have and i am thinking of getting back into it and maybe see if a can get a couple of gigs in a pub or 2 .

It's my 20th in June :D and i have asked my Mum and Dad if they are willing to buy me a new set of Turntables and a Mixer for my birthday and they have said yes :) , but they are only willing to pay upto £250.00 for the full set . I still have all my Vinyl and speakers so basicly it's just the Turntables and mixer i am in need of .

I have seen this set i like and is probily to best set i have seen for my money - http://www.djdeals.co.uk/prod-details.asp?AID=1923 ,
But can any of you help my choice a set that i can show my Mum and Dad or give a few site to have a look on .

£250.00 is all i am aload to spend , i know its not much but thats all they are will it spend on a set . Please help .

wow i thought u were married with kids lol....didnt realise u was 19 lol
i have no idea but i hope it all goes well and they decide to chip in a bit more lol;)

Hi, any reason why you are using vinyl rather than some digital medium?

I did 10 years mobile disco with a friend, working pubs + private venus. Most of our bookings thru word of mouth, advertising and an entertainment agency.

We started with vinyl back in '85 but then invested in carosel CD players. Found carrying 1000's of singles/albums a pain, plus risky bcos of damage/theft. Plus, biggest pain at venues with 'bouncy' dancefloors the needle skips, damaging your record collection.

If your planning to go mobile (and you're working by yourself), then I would seriously think of a combined cd+mixer, think Maplins do a cheap range. Also some use IPods / laptops with a mixer as another option.

woop it's my 20th in september, you can dj for my 21st lol
my boyfriend of the ex variety works for AATW if you know it? Anyway he bought headphones that cost £150! i was like omg, if i was you i wouldn't use vinyl either although it looks sexy and more dj like, tests have been done to suggest mp3 sounds better.

the best way to get money out of mummy and daddy is to tell them allll the good things you do and all the bad things you don't do. :D

I got a brand new sexy pimped computer thats here next week for £900 because i'm not a drug addict. :D

Hahahaha! funny how parents pay up when they notice the "good" that we do.

I got my Dad to buy me my new tank for my 26th birthday :):naughty:

OK, know you've got a price limit, so have a look at this as a starter http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=35557

As the ppl say, there are MP3 or other digi formats.

Thanks for all the comments , yep only 19 , bit to young IMO to get married and have kids . :)

The reason for the Vinyl is that i have always used them .

Had a go with a mates set of Cd turntables and never got the hang of them never really liked them so i stuck with the vinyl .

I could chip in about £50.00 myself if i do find the right set for me which is over the £250.00 .

I have also seen this , which i might ask for X-mas which like you ave said before on why not use Cd's Ect . . . - http://www.djkit.co.uk/product.php?id=4290&cat=324 , because if i do ened up going out and finding a few parties to play at i can take my laptop and my Exturnal Harddrive which has about 9000+ songs on it and then i wouldnt have to carry all the Vinyl about and just have a couple of bags with a laptop Harddrive , Turntables and Mixer ,

and where i dont have to carry aload of Vinyl i can use the programe , play the song from the Laptop and still have the feel of using vinyl .

The link you posted up Aquarist Andy is a good price and looks like it would be useful ( size , weight , Ect ) if i do get some where to play at but it's not my kind of thing , like i said Cd turntables are not for me , never got the hang of them .

any others ?
