It was my birthday on monday and unknown to me ( a supprise) my dear sister inlaw and her partener decided to buy me some fish ! so into my amazon set up with my oscar and silver dollars i had to put two bright red parrot fish ! and i absolutly hate them they are so unnatural and are picking lumps out of my s.d,s the oscar is terrified of them and i feel rotton because i want rid of them , i,ve sort of said so much to my sis but she loves them coz they are cute !! ive said that i would never have bought them myself and really dislike the look of them . so what do i do keep them ( yuk) or take them back to the shop and risk a family argument ....has anyone else been bought fish they had to keep that they didnt like ??

^Do not aknowledge the "flush" guy. It's inhumane, nobody will fall for it, and you'll have murdered them. Try getting another tank/rehoming the fish.

If you don't want to risk an argument you can just say they were not working (you can say they were getting beat up if you like) and that you found them a better home, make sure to tell her you appreciate the thought but ask her to take you out to pick out a fish next time

i will probably do this , i cant beleive that pets at home sold them to her , they asked what fish i had and told her that they would be ok how did she know ??? ( luckily the oscar is a wuss or they would both be dead by now as he,s 10 inches long and theyre only little) if she,d asked ide have saved her 40 quid and just got her to get me another clown loach or two. keeping them goes against my principles because they seem to be coloured artificially and are so ugly ..... i,m in sunderland tyne and wear .....( yes i know our football team is rubbish before anyone tells me lol. )

Was a sarcastic JOKE! Dont get your panties in a bunch! Its like when some one asks what they can put in a 10g tank and people reply with "Red tail cat"!
