Birthday surprise!!! Now what do I do?

Hi so I just received 500$ from my parents for my b day and was wondering what everyone would do to improve my tanks? originally I was going to get nice 3d back grounds from Aqua decor but after looking at prices i changed my mind lol here are my tanks I want to maybe do a planted tank in my 75g (the 75g is divided now but not for long) and some sort of decor for my 125g cant do plants with my oscars also the 75g has a aqeon optibright 48" light so that also limits plants but let me know!!! here is the 125g cant find pics of the 75g will get some though

Could add a sand substrate and add some more decor, be careful though the oscars may mess some of it up. Could also get pothos on the top.

ya was going to do sand and I would love to do pothos but I have cats do they mess with it? i have heard its toxic too them

with cats you can put double-sided sticky tape around the perimeter of the tank or where they go to try to jump up, they don't like the texture on their paws, works as a nonharmful deterrent. as for if they mess with it, it often depends on the cat.

any seggestions for plants low to mid level light? for my 75g bichir tank

The norm. Hornwort, Anubias, and others.

I have acually not had great succes with hornwort I thin it is because of the activated carbon in my filters tho I cleared out the carbon and they are doing a little better

What about Guppy Grass. Pretty cool, and eels/bichirs love it!

ya I also dont really want substrates feeding plants as im using sand and dont really want to dose fertilizer or root tabs so guppy grass is a good idea

Get a large piece of driftwood, stick some anubias, java fern, and java moss on it, they are slow growers but will look very nice after a year. May be very simple, but also helpful if you want to move it to another tank.
