so i have a very strange request. i represent an extreme performance artist who has his own television show that has become interested in predatory fish -- "the mysterious creatures that lurk in the murky depths of the sea," so to speak.
he's interested in both debunking some public panic concerns (such as the general misconception that a school of piranha will reduce an amazon adventurer to a bloody pool in 10 minutes flat!) but also addressing some more legitimate concerns (sea urchins are the second mostly likely cause of oceanic injury).
the way he likes to explore these ideas is first-hand. his first passion is the resilience of the human body, it's capacity to heal etc., and so he is always looking for new ways to test himself and his own limits. to explore the fullest range of human experience.
he is interested to learn about the behavior of predatory fish (mollusks, and other invertibrates as well) in their environments - both wild & captive - by putting himself in "harm's way" as intelligently as possible.
i know, that sounds like an oxymoron. he's already done this with snakes, with less-lethal law-enforcement weapons, extreme cold conditions to only name a few. his goal is to have an instructive but intense personal experience. my job is to make sure he lives through it!
what feedback can you all give me about this? i can find *data* about marine predators but i don't have any personal experience to draw from. what is your favourite aquatic predator - how is it special? if we're looking for a bite, what would you recommend?
hit me!
