Just goes to show that wurms will one day rule the earth...
 
check out this worm. i can't find a real pic, but here is a realistic drawing as well as some info.

Giant Earthworm
The longest known species of giant earthworm are found in South Africa - where they have an average size of nearly one and a half metres and a diameter of about 3 centimetres. In 1936 - one measuring an incredible 6.7 metres was found in the Transvaal. The worms swallow earth and digest all the edible matter they can get out of it. The earthworms are eaten by two main enemies: hammerkop birds and night adders. sorry if i sort of derailed this thread, but i figured that this was the best place for this information.:D
