Hi guys anyone with BGJDs Iam having problem keeping fry alive tried everything . I have one alive from last spawn couple of moths old now. Ive tried feeding brine shrimp , micro worms , tried hard water soft water, planted tank ,non planted tank. I dont understand why they keep dying any advice would be appreciated.:nilly:

BGJD- Blue Gene Jack Dempsey, they have the gene for electric blue Jack Dempseys.
So if bred with another BGJD or EBJD, you will get EBJD fry (Plus BGJD and regular Jack dempsey fry).

I have had JD fry in the past....what is your setup and how do you do water changes and do you remove parents? What type of Filtration do you have? How big are the fry when they are dying? Things like this will help us help you. Do your fry show signs of big bellies? or when you wake up in the morning and you see dead fish on the bottom of the tank?

These may all sound like dumb questions, but not really cuz, they will all give us clues as to why your fry are not surviving.

Please explain so we can help you more?

Trust me.... the more u tell us(the people on the forum and in this thread), the more info we can give back. I have learned so much about keeping and breeding from this forum.

Water parameters? Filtration? Sponge filters? Size of the tank? Is the tank fully cycled? Are you hatching your own BBS?
